Have you ever heard of bone conduction technology? It’s a way of transmitting sound through the bones in your skull, bypassing the eardrum. This technology is often used in military helmets, but two innovative entrepreneurs, Kanishka Patel and Raj Shah, saw its potential for a different purpose: hearing aids.
Patel and Shah are the founders of WeHear, a company that’s developing a new type of hearing aid called HearNU. HearNU uses bone conduction technology to help people with conductive hearing loss. Conductive hearing loss is a type of hearing loss that occurs when sound waves are not able to reach the inner ear properly. Traditional treatments for conductive hearing loss can be expensive and invasive, often requiring surgery.
HearNU, on the other hand, is a more affordable and less invasive option. The device is placed behind the ear and transmits sound vibrations through the skull to the inner ear. This allows people with conductive hearing loss to hear more clearly without the need for surgery.
WeHear’s founders recently appeared on Shark Tank India, a popular reality show where entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to potential investors. The sharks were impressed with HearNU’s potential to make hearing aids more accessible and affordable.
WeHear is a company that is making a real difference in the lives of people with hearing loss. Their innovative use of bone conduction technology has the potential to help millions of people hear better.
